The Assam cabinet approved formation of a task force to prepare a roadmap for providing two lakh government jobs over the next five years. The committee has been directed to submit its report within three months with recommendations on department-wise recruitment planning and large-scale employment generation.
The proposed roadmap will focus on recruitment strategies, administrative requirements and mechanisms for transparent appointments across departments. The initiative reflects the state government’s emphasis on employment generation, governance reforms and expansion of public sector opportunities during its second consecutive term in office.
