Researchers from CSIR-IHBT, Himachal Pradesh, have identified Doronicum sanctum, a new plant species of the sunflower family (Asteraceae) in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh.

It is the first documented species of the genus Doronicum from Northeast India, highlighting the rich and underexplored floral diversity of the Eastern Himalayas.
