The National Centre of Excellence (NCoE) for Swimming was inaugurated at Amingaon, Kamrup, on 28 August 2026. Built by the Assam Government at around ₹50 crore, the facility includes a 50-metre, nine-lane Olympic-standard pool, a 25-metre diving pool and spectator galleries with 1,309 seats.

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) will operate the centre for 30 years, managing coaches, support staff, equipment, training camps and competitions. The facility aims to strengthen Assam’s sports infrastructure and develop high-performance swimming talent.
