Madhya Pradesh has already adopted a resolution supporting one-third reservation for women in Parliament and State Legislative Assemblies.
Following this, Ajanta Neog tabled a similar resolution in the Assam Legislative Assembly seeking implementation of women’s reservation after completion of the delimitation exercise.
The resolution highlighted that increased political participation and adequate representation of women are essential for empowerment, equal rights and inclusive governance.
