Road connectivity in Meghalaya is set to improve with the launch of major infrastructure projects under the North East India Infrastructure Summit & Exhibition (NEIINFRA) 2026.

A key project is the Dhubri–Phulbari Bridge–Selsella Corridor, worth ₹737 crore, which will strengthen connectivity between Assam and Meghalaya through National Highway 127B.

The corridor’s centrepiece is the 19.28-km Dhubri–Phulbari Bridge across the Brahmaputra River, linking Dhubri with Phulbari and Selsella in Meghalaya. The project will reduce travel distance between the two banks from about 205 km to just 19 km, significantly improving transportation and regional connectivity.
