• Assam shares a 267.5-km international border with Bangladesh across Dhubri, South Salmara-Mankachar, Cachar, and Sribhumi districts, of which 228.541 km has been secured with barbed-wire fencing.
  • The remaining unfenced stretches include 4.35 km along the Kushiyara River in Sribhumi due to objections from Border Guard Bangladesh, and 34.609 km of riverine border.
  • The Border Security Force monitors unfenced river stretches using the Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System (CIBMS) and boat observation outposts.
