Northeast Frontier Railway held discussions with tea industry stakeholders to promote containerised rail transportation of tea from Assam. The initiative aims to support the movement of nearly 160 million kg of export-oriented tea production through a cost-effective, reliable and eco-friendly transport system.
NFR highlighted growth in freight performance during FY 2025–26 and proposed development of modern freight terminals at Sairang and Molvom along with expansion of Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals. These measures are expected to improve logistics efficiency and trade connectivity in the region.
