The Assam Cabinet has approved the third edition of Khel Maharan, scheduled to begin on 7 November. This year introduces two age-based categories: Khel Maharan for participants above 12 years and Shoishab Krida Samaroh for children below 12.
The junior initiative will identify 300 promising athletes and support them with structured training and modern sporting facilities. Competitions will cover athletics, yogasana, chess, boxing, aquathlon, football, volleyball and swimming, strengthening grassroots sports development.
