Assam plans to constitute an Anti-Narcotics Task Force within a month to strengthen action against the state’s growing drug trade. The specialised unit will focus on property attachment, forensic investigation, financial networks of traffickers and preventing procedural lapses.
Assam will also strengthen coordination with Manipur, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh, while examining preventive detention of major traffickers. Authorities will review rehabilitation centres following reports of drugs being available in some facilities.
