The United States and 16 other countries have endorsed the Kyoto Vision for a Golden Age of Science, an international initiative aimed at accelerating scientific discovery through advanced computing and new approaches to science funding. It was endorsed at the 23rd annual meeting of the Science and Technology in Society Forum in Kyoto, Japan.
The declaration focuses on three broad areas: reforming institutions involved in scientific discovery, harnessing “Super Intelligence” for research, and cultivating scientific talent. It seeks to expand researchers’ access to advanced computing and promote innovative models for scientific collaboration.
