The JOSH (Joint Squad for Health) initiative promotes grassroots, youth-led participation in the fight against tuberculosis (TB) under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. Volunteer squads mobilise communities across blocks, wards and villages to support TB awareness and outreach.
The initiative uses the TB Mukt Bharat App for monitoring and the multilingual Khushi Avatar (e-Sangini) AI assistant to answer queries and send medication reminders in 12 Indian languages. Assam has participated in the initiative, with district-level launch programmes reported in Nagaon and other areas.
