Manipur’s Ngulkham Jathom Gangte has been appointed as India’s next Ambassador to Mexico, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). A senior diplomat, he is currently serving as Special Secretary in the MEA and is expected to assume his new assignment shortly.
His appointment reflects India’s continued efforts to strengthen diplomatic and strategic engagement with Mexico, an important partner in Latin America, while also highlighting the contribution of officers from the Northeast to India’s foreign service.
