IIT Guwahati has signed an MoU with Tata Electronics Private Limited to promote education, skill development and research in Assembly, Testing, Marking and Packaging (ATMP), a crucial segment of semiconductor manufacturing. The partnership includes establishing a Centre of Excellence (CoE) on the IIT Guwahati campus.
The initiative will develop industry-oriented training programmes and skilled professionals to meet the growing demands of the semiconductor sector. It will also strengthen Assam and the Northeast’s semiconductor ecosystem by creating opportunities for students from engineering colleges, polytechnics and other institutions.
