A total of 23 Assam Police personnel received the Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak 2026 for outstanding service, including 19 in the Special Operations category and four in Investigation. Among the awardees in Special Operations were Guwahati Police Commissioner Partha Sarathi Mahanta and Senior Superintendent of Police Pranab Kumar Pegu.
Instituted by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs in 2024, the medal recognises excellence in special operations, investigation, intelligence and forensic science. The awards are announced annually on 31 October, commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
