The Assam Cabinet has approved the notification of the Guwahati Satellite City Development Authority (Declaration, Delineation and Planning of Satellite City Development Areas) Rules, 2026, providing a regulatory framework for identifying and planning satellite city development areas around Guwahati.
The rules are intended to facilitate planned urban expansion, strengthen institutional planning and promote organised development beyond the existing city limits.
