Lokmanthan is a great
platform where the youths of
Bharat will know unique facts
about Bharat and its age-old
traditions. It’s an event
where scholars will debate
and discuss why and how
Indian civilisation is
altogether different from any
other civilisation in the world.
Lokmanthan, to be held at the
Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshet-
ra from September 21 to 24, is a
great opportunity for our younger
generation to become a part of the
Indic renaissance and know their
great civilisation.
Lokmanthan, the churn of the nation, is a journey embarked upon by Prajna Pravah to seek the cultural and traditional treasures hidden in the various corners of our country. Lokmanthan is that intended churn which would provide a chance to all ethnic groups and communities to bring forth their traditional knowledge in various spheres which are entwined in their cultural practices. It is a platform to all thinkers and practitioners for whom the national interests are primary. This is an attempt to connect intellectuals and practitioners in connecting the present to the past and thus create a future which can secure our cultural heritage.
The journey of Lokmanthan by PrajnaPravah was started in 2016 and has evoked good public response. In 2016 it was held in Bhopal with the theme “De-Colonising Indian Minds” and in 2018 Lokamnthan was held in Ranchi with the theme “Bharatbodh: Jan-Gan-Man”.
Lokmanthan 2022 is going to be held in Guwahati,Assam from 21st to 23rd September 2022 at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra organised by Prajna Pravah in collaboration with Intellectual Forum of North East (IFNE). The theme selected for this three-days colloquium is “Lokparampara”.
We are a diverse civilisation and
despite this if we have
survived, then the credit
goes to our ancient knowl-
edge structure in the form
of dharma. Many incor-
rectly correlate dharma
with religious philosophy
which is entirely a mis-
perceived concept. Any
religious concept will
propagate one central au-
thority and it has very lit-
tle to do with diversity.
Dharma, on the other
hand, is altogether differ-
ent and dharma in Bharat
is what allows local identities to
thrive and survive taking the di-
verse character of our civilisation
into account.
Diversity of Bharat stands for ac-
ceptance but it also expects other
societies or ideas to propagate mu-
tual respect in order to blend into
the Bhartiya society. But how is one
supposed to differentiate between
the ideas that are willing to blend
with Bhartiya society and the other
that has a long-term objective of re-
placing the native identity of Bharat?
To know this, one needs to know
about the belongings and qualities of
the Bhartiya civilisation. Without un-
derstanding Bhartiya culture, prac-
tices, and philosophy, our civilisation
cannot sustain itself in the long run
