The Assam Cabinet has approved the Assam Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Subordinate Service (Amendment) Rules, 2026 to regulate the recruitment and service conditions of Veterinary Field Assistants (VFAs). The amendments seek to strengthen the administrative framework governing the subordinate veterinary service.
The revised rules aim to ensure transparent and merit-based recruitment while bringing greater uniformity and consistency to the service conditions of Veterinary Field Assistants across the State.
