Manas National Park in Assam reopened to tourists with a new tourism model focused on conservation, community livelihoods and responsible travel. Moving beyond the traditional safari-centric approach, the model makes trained local guides compulsory, opens new tourism zones in the buffer landscape, introduces premium full-day routes and establishes a dedicated waste-management facility at the park entrance.

A larger tourism circuit is also planned, connecting Manas National Park, the 1st Addition to Manas, Raimona National Park and Sikhna Jwhalao National Park, along with Barnadi and Chakrashila Wildlife Sanctuaries. This landscape-wide approach aims to encourage longer stays and distribute tourism income among more local communities.
