Lovlina Borgohain (75 kg) and Parveen Hooda (65 kg) made history by winning gold medals in women’s boxing at the Asian Games, ending India’s 12-year wait for women’s boxing gold at the continental event. Their victories marked a significant achievement for Indian boxing.

With these wins, Lovlina and Parveen joined MC Mary Kom in the select group of Indian women boxers who have won Asian Games gold medals. Mary Kom, the legendary boxer from Manipur, won the flyweight (51 kg) title at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.
