The 265th edition of Kharchi Puja, one of Tripura’s most revered religious festivals, has commenced with the environmental theme ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, highlighting the integration of traditional faith with environmental conservation.
Celebrated annually at the Chaturdasha Devata Temple in Old Agartala, the festival is dedicated to the Chaturdasha Devata (14 deities), worshipped through their sacred head-images. It is an important symbol of Tripura’s cultural and religious heritage.
