They open the paper (Q1 to Q8: Jonaki, Miri Jiyori, Jnanpith, Ahomar Din, Singhapurush, Agnikobi, Silpi Divas) and recur later (Q59 Sahitya Akademi, Q99 Prahlada Charita, Q100 Assamese: Its Formation and Development), plus Q9 and Q10 on Jadav Payeng and Birubala Rabha.

They cover percentages (Q16, Q18, Q19, Q23), ratio (Q25), averages and ages (Q15, Q22, Q24), speed and time (Q20, Q21), simple cost (Q17), plus a row-position question (Q11), a direction puzzle (Q13), a coded-operator question (Q14) and a digit-count question (Q12). These are the only questions that need working rather than recall.

Geography, environment and Assam’s natural features take about 16 to 18 questions (Q26 to Q41): Siwalik, Deccan Traps, largest lake, rainforest, active volcano, mineral state, Bombay High, Mawsynram, Ramsar site, Joypur rainforest, forest cover, Baghjan, Jatinga, NEC headquarters and tribal population.

Current affairs 2020 to 2021 takes about 8 to 10 questions (Q54 to Q65 and Q97, Q98): Meri Saheli, Vaccine Maitri, Motera stadium, Cartosat-3, river ropeway, Swachh Survekshan, Mithali Raj, India Happiness Report, G20 presidency, Good Governance Day, the new one-rupee note, Riyan Parag and the Catalina Channel swim.

Polity takes about 12 to 14 questions (Q82 to Q93): Drafting Committee, Preamble amendment, Right to Property, first Chief Justice, the Governor, Assam Assembly strength, Rajya Sabha strength and chair, Guwahati High Court, Assam’s Rajya Sabha seats, first political party and the Attorney General.

Sports takes about 5 to 6 questions (Q94 to Q98): Talimeren Ao, Abhiruchi Sports Day, Dhing Express and the swimmers.

Recurring themes.

  • Assam-specific content runs through almost every section, from literature to forests to history to sports, so it accounts for roughly 40 percent of the paper.
  • Writers and awards recur in the literature block.
  • Protected areas, wetlands and districts of Assam recur in the geography block.
  • Numbers and years (amendment years, Rajya Sabha strength, assembly seats, the Motor Vehicles Act year, the High Court establishment year) are a recurring trap.

Difficulty pattern. Easy to moderate overall. Standard polity facts (Ambedkar as Drafting Committee chair, the Governor as constitutional head, the Vice President as Rajya Sabha chair) are quick marks. The arithmetic is school-level, with Q24 and Q25 the slowest.

Preparation takeaways. Give priority to Assamese literature and personalities, Assam’s geography and protected areas, Indian polity and the Assam Assembly and Rajya Sabha numbers, and the road transport and licensing rules, which are the post-specific core. Practise percentage, ratio, average and speed problems for the first-half numerical block, which is quick scoring if the formulas are fresh.
