The Assam Cabinet has approved the minimum of the prescribed pay scale for an additional 166 muster-roll, casual and fixed-pay workers, providing greater financial support to these categories of employees.
The benefit will take effect from September 1, 2026, extending minimum-pay protection to more workers engaged under different employment arrangements. The decision reflects the state government’s efforts towards improving wage security and employment-related welfare.
