The Assam Government is set to recruit 130 veterinary doctors and 200 livestock field assistants under the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department. The recruitment aims to strengthen veterinary services and improve frontline support for livestock farmers across the state.
The government has also announced a livestock insurance system to provide financial protection to farmers against losses involving their domestic animals. Together, the measures seek to strengthen animal healthcare, reduce economic risks and support livelihoods dependent on livestock.
