The Assam Cabinet has approved a special Puja bonus for Arunodoi beneficiaries, raising their October assistance from the regular ₹1,250 to ₹1,500. The enhanced support is intended as a festive-season benefit ahead of Durga Puja for economically vulnerable households.
The Cabinet also approved a 20% Puja bonus for ATCL employees and tea workers (Shramiks). Additionally, October 17 will be observed as a state government holiday to compensate for the Durga Puja holiday falling on Sunday, October 18.
