Researchers recorded the first-ever camera-trap image of a rare Musk deer inside Yordi Rabe Supse Wildlife Sanctuary, marking a significant achievement in biodiversity documentation in the eastern Himalayan region.

Located in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, the sanctuary was established in 1996 and covers nearly 397 sq km of mountainous terrain ranging from tropical forests to montane wet temperate ecosystems. The finding highlights the ecological importance of the sanctuary and the rich wildlife diversity of Arunachal Pradesh.
