The 10th anniversary of the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan was celebrated across health institutions in Karbi Anglong, marking a decade since its launch on June 9, 2016.
The initiative aims to provide assured, comprehensive, and quality antenatal care services to pregnant women, with special focus on the second and third trimesters of pregnancy to promote safe motherhood.
Implemented under the guidance of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the National Health Mission, the programme seeks to reduce maternal and neonatal health risks through regular check-ups and early identification of high-risk pregnancies.
