A unique yellow-coloured puffball mushroom has been recorded in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh, highlighting the rich and largely unexplored fungal diversity of Northeast India.

The specimen has been tentatively identified as Bovista colorata (Yellow Puffball Mushroom) based on its distinctive yellow globose fruiting body and puffball-like morphology. Researchers have noted that detailed microscopic examination and molecular studies will be required for final taxonomic confirmation of the species.

The discovery underscores the ecological significance of the region and the need for continued biodiversity exploration and documentation.
