Dear Candidates,

As someone currently serving in the post of Enforcement Inspector in the Transport Department, I would like to share a few important points that may help you prepare better for your upcoming interview.

First and foremost, give special attention to the Motor Vehicles Act and its associated rules and regulations. A strong understanding of the MV Act forms the backbone of this role. Alongside this, stay updated with the latest initiatives and developments in the Transport Department, such as the establishment of automated fitness testing centers and automated driving test tracks across various districts. These reflect the department’s ongoing modernization efforts and are likely areas of discussion during the interview.

Equally important is the domain of road safety, a critical function of the department. Be well-versed with road safety strategies, campaigns, and related government programs.

Lastly, understand the job profile of an Enforcement Inspector. It is largely a field-based role, requiring on-ground enforcement, inspections, and public interaction. Be prepared to answer questions about how you plan to manage field responsibilities effectively, deal with real-time situations, and enforce compliance while maintaining professionalism.

Wishing you all the very best for your interview!

Warm regards,
Angana Hazarika
