A team from the UK-based Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) has conducted a preliminary inspection of World War II heritage sites in Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh.

The delegation visited key locations including the WWII cemetery, Laal Pool, Hamilton Bridge, Hell Gate, and the Old Stilwell Road leading to Pangsau Pass.

The mission aimed to assess the condition of these historical sites and explore the potential for restoration to Commonwealth heritage standards.

This initiative could enhance cultural tourism and promote international collaboration in preserving India’s lesser-known wartime legacy.
