Economy & Labour Rights

AAP MP Raghav Chadha has urged the Centre to ban 10-minute delivery services offered by quick-commerce companies, calling them exploitative and unsafe for delivery workers. He argued that gig workers, who make such ultra-fast deliveries possible, are often subject to harsh and inhumane working conditions.

Chadha highlighted that while quick-commerce firms enjoy billion-dollar valuations, delivery partners routinely work 12–14 hours a day, in extreme weather, without adequate protective gear, bonuses, or hazard allowances. Unlike factory workers, gig workers lack permanent employment, regulated work environments, and sufficient health or accident insurance.

His appeal frames 10-minute delivery as a labour rights issue, urging lawmakers to prioritise worker safety and dignity over hyper-competitive service models.
