The U.S. President has unveiled the Golden Dome Missile Defense System, a $175 billion project aimed at countering foreign missile threats.

The system combines multiple layers of defense. A space-based intercept layer of satellites will track and neutralize missiles in their early boost phase. Ground-based midcourse defense will be strengthened with upgraded interceptors in California and Alaska. Five new launch sites across the mainland, Hawaii, and Alaska will expand interception capacity. A limited area defense layer, using radars and launchers with systems like Patriot, will focus on protecting major cities.

This multi-tiered design reflects America’s attempt to integrate space, land, and radar-based technologies to create a comprehensive shield against evolving missile challenges.
