In Zakhama village of Nagaland, a textile unit has been established focusing on tribal designs, notably the Tsüngkotepsü shawl.

The unit provides training to local women, enabling them to blend traditional Ao Naga motifs with modern materials, promoting cultural preservation and livelihood generation.

The Tsüngkotepsü shawl is a warrior shawl traditionally worn by the Ao Nagas.

Historically, it was worn only by warriors who had taken enemy heads—a symbol of bravery and status.

In contemporary times, the right to wear it is tied to performing a mithun sacrifice, which symbolizes wealth and social stature.
