Tripura has exported another consignment of 182 kg of organic Kalikhasa aromatic rice to Dubai, strengthening the state’s efforts to expand the global market for its organic agricultural products and enhance export opportunities for local farmers.
Kalikhasa is a traditional aromatic rice variety deeply rooted in the indigenous culture of Tripura and is primarily cultivated by women farmers in the hill regions and Gomati district. Rich in anthocyanins, an antioxidant associated with cardiovascular health, the rice has significant nutritional and export value.
