The Assam Cabinet has approved the notification of the Tharko Nalbari Proposed Reserve Forest in Goalpara district as a Reserve Forest, strengthening efforts to expand green cover and provide stronger legal protection to ecologically significant forest areas.
The notification is expected to enhance biodiversity conservation, curb encroachment, and promote sustainable forest management through formal Reserve Forest status.
