Tezpur Litchi, a GI-tagged fruit of Assam, is set to expand its international presence with one tonne earmarked for export to Dubai and 500 kilograms to Singapore. Additionally, 100 specially packaged boxes of premium Tezpur litchis will be sent to the Prime Minister’s Office.
The initiative highlights the growing export potential of Assam’s horticultural produce. Entrepreneur Biswajit Saikia also showcased value-added litchi products, including dehydrated litchis with an extended shelf life, and proposed the development of litchi-based honey and other agro-processed products, reflecting new opportunities in the food processing sector.
