The Line of Amity, a concept proposed by strategic analyst Jaideep Saikia, advocates a stable and mutually respected frontier to reduce tensions and promote long-term peace along the India–China border.
The concept has gained relevance amid China’s evolving strategy along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), where legal measures such as the Land Border Law, coupled with extensive border infrastructure and frontier settlements, are viewed as efforts to consolidate territorial claims and strengthen strategic positions. Analysts describe this approach as the creation of a “Second Great Wall” aimed at securing long-term tactical advantages along the Himalayan frontier.
