Kushal Konwar Sarma, popularly known as the “Elephant Doctor of Assam,” has been selected for the Assam Saurav award in recognition of his contributions to wildlife veterinary care and elephant conservation.
An Indian veterinarian from Assam, he serves as Professor and Head of Surgery and Radiology at the College of Veterinary Science, Guwahati. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2020 in recognition of his contributions to the field of medicine.
