Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the redeveloped Mata Tripura Sundari Temple complex at Udaipur in Tripura’s Gomati district.

Built in 1501 AD by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya, the 524-year-old temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas and holds deep spiritual significance. Its redevelopment, carried out under the PRASHAD scheme at a cost of about ₹52 crore with an additional ₹7 crore from the state government, has transformed the temple into a three-storey complex.

Alongside the temple expansion, work is underway on a 51-Shakti Peethas Park at Banduar with a budget of nearly ₹98 crore. The park will recreate all 51 Shakti Peethas in one place, aiming to boost religious tourism in the region.
