Rural Banking and Financial Inclusion
The Government of India and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) introduced a single common logo for all Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) under the “One RRB, One Logo” initiative, following the consolidation of RRBs into 28 banks across the country.
The initiative aims to build a unified and modern identity for RRBs, enhance public confidence, and strengthen their role in delivering credit, banking, and financial inclusion services in rural and semi-urban areas.
The logo reflects the core mandate of RRBs: an upward arrow symbolising progress and rural growth, hands representing support and nurturing of rural livelihoods, and a flame denoting knowledge, empowerment, and financial literacy.
APSC Relevance:
Important for Assam-specific banking awareness, NABARD and RRB reforms, financial inclusion initiatives, rural credit systems, and governance reforms relevant for APSC Prelims and Mains.
