Northeast Frontier Railway has introduced an advanced optical fibre-based communication system at level crossing gates to enhance railway safety and monitoring. The Integrated Voice-cum-Data Communication System enables real-time tracking of gate operations, improving coordination between station masters and field staff.
Equipped with AI-based noise filtering and integrated CCTV surveillance, the system ensures clearer communication and better situational awareness. It has already been implemented at Senchoa and Barpathar stations, covering both interlocked and non-interlocked gates, marking a significant step towards modernising railway safety infrastructure.
