Khousabung pineapple, grown in the Khousabung area of Churachandpur district, Manipur, is a renowned Giant Kew variety known for its large size, juicy sweetness and fibreless flesh. The variety was reportedly introduced to Khousabung in 1947 by Pu Songpu Gangte, who brought it from Lakhipur in Assam.

The Manipur Government has applied for a Geographical Indication (GI) tag for Khousabung pineapple. GI recognition would help protect its regional identity, strengthen its market value and promote the livelihoods of local pineapple growers.
