Infrastructure & Tourism Development – Northeast India
With the Bairabi–Sairang Railway Line nearing completion, connecting Mizoram to the Indian Railways network for the first time, IRCTC and the Mizoram Government have signed a two-year MoU (August 2025) to promote tourism. IRCTC will market travel packages, while Mizoram Tourism will provide infrastructure and support local service providers.
The partnership highlights Mizoram’s cultural heritage and natural beauty, aligning with IRCTC’s “Discover NE Beyond Guwahati” plan to launch a special tourist train to Aizawl, focusing on budget-friendly and sustainable tourism.
