Defence and Security

Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi’s visit to a drone facility in Likabali, Arunachal Pradesh, highlighted the Army’s resolve to institutionalise drone operations as a standard capability across all arms. The Army is rapidly inducting drones and counter-drone systems as part of its modernisation efforts.

Unmanned platforms have already been deployed by multiple units, while specialised drone centres have been set up at premier training academies, including the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun, the Infantry School in Mhow, and the Officers Training Academy in Chennai. This integration signals a transformative shift in India’s defence preparedness.
