The Prime Minister of India is undertaking a State visit to Israel at the invitation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, reflecting the deepening strategic partnership between the two countries. Israel remains one of India’s key defence suppliers and an important collaborator in sectors such as agriculture through the India–Israel Agricultural Project (IIAP), which promotes advanced farming technologies and productivity enhancement.
Widely known as the “Startup Nation,” Israel leads globally in research and development expenditure per capita, with strong capabilities in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and quantum technologies. Cooperation in innovation and technology has become a central pillar of bilateral relations.
The engagement also highlights the concept of resilient democracy, which refers to a political system’s ability to withstand crises, adapt to challenges such as polarisation or disinformation, and preserve democratic institutions, peaceful power transitions and active citizen participation.
