Defence and Security
The Indian Army, Navy and Air Force converge in the rugged mountains of Mechuka this month for Exercise Poorvi Prachand Prahar, a tri-service demonstration of integrated warfighting capability in the Eastern theatre.
The exercise showcases coordinated employment of special forces, unmanned platforms, precision strike systems and networked operations centres under realistic high-altitude conditions. Revised tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) are tested and validated to sharpen combat agility and adaptability.
Operational aims include enhancing jointness across services, validating tech-enabled force multiplication (drones, sensors, C4ISR), and rehearsing logistics and evacuation in difficult terrain. The drill strengthens deterrence, interoperability and rapid response posture along the eastern frontier.
