The Primate Research Centre Northeast India (PRCNE), in collaboration with the Forest Department of the Bodoland Territorial Council, organised a workshop in Kokrajhar under the theme “Connecting Culture and Conservation”.
The initiative seeks to promote the conservation of the endangered Golden Langur while enhancing local livelihoods through advanced handloom and weaving skills. Participants are being trained to incorporate motifs of the Golden Langur and other native wildlife species into traditional textiles and fabric products.
The programme aims to link cultural heritage, eco-tourism, and sustainable income generation, fostering greater community participation in biodiversity conservation and environmental stewardship.
