An Indian Air Force transport aircraft crashed at the Air Force Station in Jorhat. The aircraft involved was an Antonov An-32, a twin-engine military transport plane used for logistics, supply missions, and personnel transport.

The An-32 can carry approximately 7.5 tonnes of cargo, 50 personnel, or 42 paratroopers and is designed to operate from high-altitude and challenging airfields.

The incident follows an earlier Indian Air Force crash in Karbi Anglong involving a Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jet.
