Lucknow has officially submitted its nomination for inclusion in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) under the category “City of Gastronomy”.
About UCCN:
Launched in 2004 by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).
Objective: To promote international cooperation among cities that recognize creativity as a strategic factor in sustainable urban development.
Current Status:
350 cities are currently part of UCCN.
The network focuses on integrating culture and creative industries—like crafts, music, gastronomy, literature, design, film, and media arts—into development frameworks.
