The Bhairav Battalion is a new-generation high-speed offensive unit of the Indian Army, created for rapid raids, drone-based operations and hybrid warfare missions. It is designed as a “fight tonight” force that can respond swiftly without the delays associated with special forces deployment.
In the Northeast, Bhairav Battalions are being positioned to strengthen border preparedness along sensitive frontiers and insurgency-prone zones. Their role is to enhance quick reaction capability, surveillance, and precision strikes in difficult terrain, complementing regular infantry formations.
