Assam government announced the establishment of the Barak Valley Development Department to bring governance closer to the residents of Cachar, Hailakandi, and Sribhumi districts.
The new department is expected to expedite developmental initiatives, create job opportunities, and address regional disparities effectively.
Additionally, the government also sanctioned a production-linked incentive of ₹2 per litre for ethanol derived from grains in a bid to encourage cleaner energy alternatives and enhance farmers’ income.
This incentive will be available for three years, specifically benefitting ethanol manufacturing units, as it aims to mark a step towards a more sustainable and greener economy.
